COURSE SPECIFIC INFORMATION

 

  • Can a company customise a course?

     

    Evac You Eight’s training is specifically designed to ensure that customisation is available for different types of business. If you require specific information or a customised course please inform a staff member at the time of booking.

     

    Customised courses are only available for training done at the place of business unless otherwise organised with the Evac You Eight Director.

     

  • How many people can attend the Accredited Training?

     

    Participation in Evac You Eight’s Accredited courses is a maximum of 15 participants per course. This is to ensure that trainers have the full attention of participants and that the course information can be accurately instructed.

     

  • How many people can attend the

    Non-Accredited Training?

     

    Participation in Evac You Eight’s Non-Accredited courses is a maximum of 25 participants per course (unless otherwise specified). This is to ensure that trainers have the full attention of participants and that the course information can be accurately instructed.

     

  • How and when will I be assessed?

     

    All assessments will be conducted by appropriately qualified and experienced assessors.

     

    The focus of assessment is to gather a range of evidence using different methods and to assess, not just knowledge but also practical skills using the equipment.

     

    Trainees are assessed for competency using specific resources as required by the Units of Competency and our regulating body ASQA.

     

  • How do I know if I “passed” the course?

     

    Trainees will be assessed as Satisfactory (S) or Not Yet Satisfactory (NYS) for the assessment tasks.

     

    A final result of  Competent ( C ) or Not Yet Competent ( NYC ) will be awarded after successful completion of the course.

     

    Should a Trainee receive an ‘NYS’ assessment they will be briefed in private as to where they need to concentrate in order to achieve competency, and given a second opportunity to undergo assessment.

    This opportunity may entail repeating the course at the discretion of the employer, this may include at Trainees own cost. A Trainee who still cannot demonstrate competency will be counselled and advised of options.   This may entail further training for which a fee may be payable.

     

  • What happens if I don’t “pass” the practical assessment?

     

    If you are not assessed as satisfactory on the first attempt, you will be given feedback and time to practice the task prior to attempting the assessment again.

     

  • What happens if I don’t “pass” the theory assessment?

     

    If you are not assessed as satisfactory on the first attempt, you will be given feedback and time to review the course material prior to attempting the assessment again. questionnaires.

    b.  Practical demonstration of skills.

     

    Assessment may be taken verbally via question and answer interaction if requested.   Please inform the Trainer prior to session commencement if you consider this is the best option for you.

     

  • What if I want to appeal the assessment decision?

  • Will I have to do any homework or study between training days?

     

    No. Evac You Eight’s courses are only short course training. This means there is no homework or external study to be done after the training day.

  • Do I have to do any reading or work before the course starts?

     

    Some courses require pre-course reading to be completed. An Evac You Eight staff member will provide more information on this at the time of booking.

     

  • What happens to my personal details and results?

     

    Trainee details are collected via Course Attendance and Course Registration forms. These are integral parts of the course and therefore it is a requirement that all trainees fill in the information required on these forms. Evac You Eight collects this confidential information for internal use and Government auditing only. Such information shall not be released to any other organisation without your prior permission.

     

    Trainee Results – On successful completion of the course, all trainees will receive a Statement of Attainment. These will be posted out to the individual Trainees unless otherwise requested. If required, a Training Report can accompany the Statement.

    The assessment results are entered into our database as a long term record. These records are confidential and remain the property of Evac You Eight.

     

  • Can I access my records?

     

    Trainees have the right to sight their records. In order to do so, Trainees will need to provide Proof of identity to access these records.

     

  • What happens if I need to cancel a course?

     

    Corporate Booked Courses

    Should the situation arise where the Client requests to:

     

    • Defer a confirmed course with an alternate date Evac You Eight will not charge any additional fees.
    • Cancel a confirmed course and provides notice in excess of seven (7) working days prior to date of training Evac You Eight will refund all pre-paid fees / 20% of the quoted cost.
    • Cancel a confirmed course and provides notice less than seven (7) working days prior to the date of training Evac You Eight will charge a 20% administrative charge on any prepaid fees or 20% of the quoted cost

     

    However, should the confirmed course involve hiring fees paid in advance by Evac You Eight for venue, specialised equipment or Trainers, then these fees will be charged to the Client.

     

    For the purpose of cancellation such notice shall be in writing with calculating three (3) working days from the date of acknowledged receipt by Evac You Eight.

     

     

    Trainee Booked Course

    Should the situation arise where the Trainee requests to:

     

    • Defer a confirmed course with an alternate date Evac You Eight will not charge any additional fees.
    • Cancel a confirmed course and provides notice in excess of seven (7) working days prior to date of training Evac You Eight will refund all pre-paid fees.
    • Cancel a confirmed course and provides notice less than seven (7) working days prior to the date of training Evac You Eight will charge a 20% administrative charge on any prepaid fees.

     

  • What happens if Evac You Eight cancels a course?

     

    Should the situation arise where Evac You Eight may be required to defer, postpone or cancel a scheduled course we will always offer an alternate date.

     

    Should the alternate date or dates not be suitable to the Client or Trainees all pre-paid fees / 20% of the quoted cost shall be refunded in full.

     

  • What happens if someone can’t attend the training?

     

    Corporate Booked Courses

    Evac You Eight requires more than 7 days notice prior to the date of training for cancellations. Training cancelled within the 7 days forfeits the deposit amount as per the written agreement.

     

    Trainee Booked Course

    If an individual person cancels more than 7 days prior to the date of training, all course payments will be refunded. If a cancellation occurs within the 7days, an administration fee will be charged.

     

    Further Information

    The following applies to cancellation from a course prior to commencement:

    1.  You must notify the office by phone if you cannot attend

    2.  The deposit amount is non-refundable

    3.  A transfer to another date will be offered.

    4.  Requests for refunds must be in writing or email and a form is completed.

    5.  The fee to be refunded will be calculated and you will be notified by email.

  • Can a business send a replacement person at short notice on the day?

     

    Yes. The employer should phone the office to inform Evac You Eight of the change and ensure the new participant has ID (if required) and suitable clothing for the course.

     

  • When can I expect my Statement of Attainment?

     

    Training and Assessment that is provided by Evac You Eight is Nationally Recognised and therefore qualifications are issued according to the Australian Qualifications Framework.

    Evac You Eight only issues statements of attainment that are within its scope of registration and is showing on training.gov.au.

     

    Statements of Attainment for accredited courses are issued by Evac You Eight where participants are found competent in the unit/s and signed by the Chief Executive Officer. This will then be issued to the trainee within 21 days of completion.

     

    Evac You Eight reserves the right to withhold Statements of Attainment and Training Reports until all fees have been paid in full.
